Installation requires certain skills. There is some custom work, this is no coincidence. You have to measure twice etc. So far the antenna seems reliable and works well. My only complaint is that it's quite noisy. I installed this on an '86 Mazda B2000 and it definitely lets you know it's there when it goes up and down. It comes with a lot of hardware, but other than that I reused the fender mount from the factory antenna and made my own base mount. In hindsight, it probably wouldn't hurt to use some sort of isolator on the base mount.
