Quality Control Issues

So we bought this unit when it was sold as a Christmas present for my daughter. It's not Christmas yet, so I can't give any feedback on what she thinks at this point. However, I am very disappointed with the quality control of this product. First, on a front panel, there was a fairly large delaminated area inside. We have chosen not to return the item due to this defect as we could have repaired it and you would not notice as we have painted interior walls and floors and stairs. What if you have the time and skills, I highly recommend it. One of the reasons we bought it was the unfinished look inside and the ability to customize it. So the defect inside wasn't huge and wasn't worth the hassle of sending it back. However, the defect was so severe that there is no reason it should have been tested. We now have the interior set up and ready to assemble. Everything went smoothly and didn't take long. To the attic. Holes lined up in shape or form. Luckily there was enough extra wood to drill a new hole in the side of the dormer, leaving no unused hole in the side of the dollhouse. Again a problem that should not have passed the test and all holes were offset by the same amount. If you lined them up your windows would be crooked and look awful. So it was worth the money even on offer. In my opinion no. It's not well done. The balconies are only attached with plastic dowels and not very long. They fit well but this is for small children and I don't see them sticking but I could be wrong. The ladder inside is also not attached in any way. You just sit inside. I'm not very happy with this and may have to at least use wood glue to hold it up and down. The divider is also poorly made. It's boxed up and the top floor hole just makes it look very unfinished and there's nothing you can do to really hide it at this stage unless you decide to put a dollhouse rug in it. Even if you add carpet there will be a gap as the panel bar doesn't fill the entire space which makes it the worst in my opinion. In any case, remember that you may not end up with the perfect home, and be prepared to either return an item and hope the next one is better, or make the necessary adjustments yourself.
