Review on Sony HX400V Compact Digital Camera: Capturing Brilliance with 50x Optical Zoom in Black by Ada Adaszek ᠌

Normal quality, you can use it.

I have ownership over two years. The first thing that took me by surprise was how good the picture turned out to be! It is absolutely horrible! On par with a smartphone that has a matrix with 8 megapixels! At first, I had the bright idea of resolving everything by adjusting the settings manually; alas, this did not result in anything positive! The soap climbs with an incredible amount of force! For instance, the leaves on the trees appear to be some kind of unorganized jungle of green. (in the middle of the afternoon!) There are only two levels of noise reduction available in the menu, neither of which are visually distinguishable from the other. The noise reduction algorithm is very aggressive, and it is not possible to turn it off. It is not possible to output in RAW, and the compression rate of JPEG is very high! JPEG blocks are immediately visible when the photo is enlarged, whereas on my previous NIKON D50 camera, which only had 6 megapixels, this was not observed even when the magnification was increased. Evening shooting is even more disheartening, with multi-frame noise reduction being the only way to achieve a more or less acceptable result. A microscopic matrix has a depressingly narrow dynamic range. There are no nuances in the shading or highlights! Either darkness or bright light! Do not let your imagination lead you to believe that you can capture the subtle gradations of color in a sunset. For a camera that weighs 0.6 kilograms, the tripod thread socket is quite flimsy. The plastic has already detached from the object. These are the primary detriments to consider (not to mention batteries, very expensive accessories for the SONY multi-interface shoe). AFTER ONE AND A HALF YEARS, DUST ON THE REAR LENS! However, there are positive aspects to consider as well! This is zoom! For instance, the price of just one SIGMA 600mm lens (which is equivalent in magnification) is approximately 100,000 dollars. Not only is there a huge gap between the two in terms of quality, but also in terms of cost! You can also turn off the autofocus feature, which misses focus very infrequently even in low light but can be turned on. For a beginner, control is provided by a mobile device. The manual control functions of cameras are analogous to a mirror in every way. They are finished in their work. Macro is good. Optical stub, which is also good. As a consequence of this, it is an effective tool for stealth photographers. If you previously owned a soapbox, you will be very happy about this purchase; if you previously owned a dslr, you will be disappointed. Excellent video quality, and convenient for traveling (for a camera). Excellent zoom range. If you decide to make a purchase, you should bring your memory card with you to the store so that you can take pictures and evaluate them when you get back home. If you like it - take it!

Pros
  • Zoom ratio, apps from "store sony," screen, and a lens made by Carl Zeiss of high quality Autofocus.
Cons
  • photo quality, flimsy body that completely leaks, weak flash and battery, and poor overall performance.
