Ever heard of the "right tool” for the "right job”? This tool is the right tool to install the tape on the surface. This assumes you have an "edge" to grab over. There is a video on YouTube showing another Groove Tensioner so I won't bore you with the details but I will say that the pros use the Groove Tensioner. Not rubber ended up alone. Why do you think that is? Simply 1) Durability. Groove-based subframes depend on nothing more than the strength of the plastic (which is pretty good in this case). The strength of rubber is negligible. any rubber based stretcher will eventually fail. such as tires, polyethylene gloves, etc. 2) Shoulder. Pulling against the groove gives you a much better pivot point, allowing you to get a nice smooth pull. If you pull on the rubber tip, you'll be more comfortable, but at the mercy of the rubber grip. Remember that this is a SHARP tool. You need a hold that's as stable as you can handle it. So I'm the only one who bought and reviewed something like this. but I made 2 chairs and the tooling looks like new. I think I made the right choice.
