My previous phone was a Panasonic cordless phone similar to this one. It was over 8 years old. Time erased it, but the technology was also ancient. The sound quality was a particular disappointment, but mostly for those on the other end of the line. I heard everything perfectly. When I finally called my cell phone to listen to the outgoing message, I realized I needed a new phone (sounded like a soft whisper). This phone solved that problem. Management. It was not clear that to set an announcement it was necessary to set it from a manual device rather than from a base. Another problem lies in the instructions, I was not told that setting the time and date via the base unit's handwheel would set them for all other phones. I started setting the time and date at a remote location, then went to the base, and then to the next remote location. When I got to the third phone, it was already set up, so I knew the base would set all the phone's times and dates. It's also possible that setting the time and date of one device will set all devices, but the delay doesn't occur until I reach the third phone. In any case, the instructions did not describe the process. So the instructions in the manual were the areas that I felt needed the most improvement. In general I liked the phone.
