Our remote kept getting lost because it was so small we ended up lemon green in color. Our remote also fell apart because we dropped it many times. The rear latch was loose and the top plastic was starting to come loose. I didn't want to spend $30 on a replacement and couldn't find a universal remote with voice control, and those that were universal but didn't have voice control were questioned. I thought I would try the $5-6 cap first and if that didn't work I would get a $30 replacement and use the cap to protect the new one. I'm glad the lid keeps everything in place and I don't have to worry about the remote breaking. The color makes it easier to find and no longer falls off frequently due to the additional hold.
