After 5 minutes (first time) one of the oval links attaching the bottom chains to the rubber bushings caught in the tip of the opposite leg causing me to trip and that limb had bent. 90 degrees, allowing the connected chain to fall out. The cold and snow made it impossible for me to close the link by hand, hence the chain broke when I tried to continue using it - functional for getting out of an ice hike but not how a new product behaves should. A previous review mentions a similar issue. If you buy these you will need to check the oval chain links to make sure there are no rough connections where they will bend together to form a closed loop (probably check before/after each use).
