I would even go so far as to say that it adds more depth to the picture and gives it a good cinematic quality. The camera accepts CS mount lenses. You can also use C-mount lenses, but you will need a CS-mount spacer/adapter to increase the focal length. I haven't tried other lenses yet. There are a few flaws in the lens glass that can be seen at maximum zoom and lens focus but are invisible even when shooting macro. Image quality looks great in my room from 5ft to 15ft away.
