Review on Rothco Canvas Daypack Olive Drab Backpacks for Casual Daypacks by Gene Taylor

Better than I expected. This backpack is not a pretty fashion item, but that's how I like it. The main compartment can be closed with drawstrings, which works well depending on how much stuff you have in it. Note that the bag is a bit small; The main part of the bag (under the top flap) is slightly taller/wider than the portfolio, but size has rarely been an issue for me. The construction isn't very good (strings often break), but I haven't had any structural integrity issues yet. It's the perfect size to take a few things with you and I love that I can just toss it in the wash if I want to (I'm pretty sure it's canvas only and not "waterproof" by the way) . If size doesn't put you off, I recommend this backpack.
