When I took the backhoe apart this spring/summer I found a heater core (leaking slightly) and a fully stuck fan providing heat to the cab . Now I can fix anything, but it was just a rusted piece of hard metal. OEM parts are simply prohibitively expensive. This fan was the perfect size. I had to make minimal modifications to the heater core assembly. This is a DC motor so a simple change in polarity will change the direction of airflow. Since it's designed to cool the radiator, I figured it would have enough airflow to keep the heater core running. It certainly looks like that. Plastic may appear structurally disadvantageous, but it does not rust. I repaired the heater core a little (there were microleaks) and obvious traces of antifreeze everywhere. The OEM fan, a (full) steel gear, was developed for industrial systems. It's about 34 years old. Current usage was fine (almost the same amperage as the OEM). The fan speed switch on the dash seems to change the fan speed normally. Nothing but happiness from this purchase. Saved me a lot of money, delivered quickly and did exactly what I needed. Now I have a heated cabin. Yes!
