The single drive bay installed into the case without tools, but I used the four screws provided to secure it during hard drive installation. The installation went smoothly and the SATA power and data connection made the installation complete. The onboard SATA connection is pass-through, meaning there are no drivers to install and you get the speed and performance of your motherboard's SATA connection. The unit is designed to work with 3.5" hard drives, and inserting 2.5" drives is a hassle, let alone trying to remove a 2.5" drive. I use a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter and it works fine with this unit. a little smoother than I expected. The drives slide inward until only 1 to 1/2 inches remain, and there's more SATA connectivity when the door is closed. I was expecting more resistance, but with the door closed, the drive opens quite gently. also easier than expected. * If you don't use hot-swap in SATA settings, please turn off the system before removing the hard drives. What I can say is: 1) The device is a bit small on the bezel and the light goes around the bottom of the bezel. 2) The door is also slightly smaller than the doorway, which also allows light to enter.
