My wife's Galaxy was in a soft case which fell off the bedside table, hit the corner and shattered the glass. I've replaced a few screens on phones and an older version of these spreadsheets, so I'm not entirely unfamiliar. in order to do this. I ended up using a utility knife to separate the plastic case from the frame as I couldn't get it loose with the pick or other tools. When I finally got started, I was able to walk the rest of the way with a pickaxe and metal tool to remove the cartridge case. Due to the fall and breakage, the screen easily detached from the adhesive. I disconnected the battery cable on the back before you disconnect the shield cable for device safety. By removing the screen and then running a new cable through the bezel and plugging it back in, I made sure there was no dust on the actual surface of the screen. The protective film was a bit difficult to remove, but then it comes off easily. CAREFULLY align the digitizer screen and place it in place. Press on the edges to make sure it sticks. I then reconnected the battery cable, snapped the back cover on, cleaned the new screen really well, and put on a new screen protector and better case! I think the only tool I used was tweezers, to guide the cable through the hole in the case. . (used a thinner pick and that there is no dust on the actual surface of the screen.
