Overall good, but expected more.

All the reviews I saw before making a purchase were quite positive, so I made the purchase immediately without even trying it out. Yet to no avail. The headphones have not been tried out yet. Quite simply, I hated the bass. While I do adore basses, there are simply too many of them here. Turning up the level helps me hear the mids and highs more clearly, but after a while the pressure of the sound becomes too much for my ears and I have to turn it down. I wanted it to be a direct improvement over the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro, but instead I got merely more bass. As I switched to a different set of headphones, albeit a more pricey set, I found that the bass was much stronger and that the midrange and treble were more clearer and more present. Considering that everyone has their own unique taste in music and that the DAC + amplifier + headphones configuration generates a unique system with its own sound, it's probable that the headphones' sound could change when used with different equipment. But I went a different route with my headphones and I couldn't be happier. Design-wise, they're excellent, and the price-to-quality ratio will please those who've used headphones from a lower price range. However, when compared to the DT 770 Pro, I didn't notice any improvement, and the bass kept hammering, so they weren't my personal preference.

Pros
  • Elegant, well-crafted, and reasonably priced. The product, along with its packaging and accessories, would make an excellent present.
Cons
  • Wasn't a fan of the way it sounded. Adding more bass would be excessive. Personally, I place a premium on having high-quality audio when using headphones.
