Great quality for the price, best option where pressboard is acceptable

This line of products does the job really well. I would rather buy natural wood furniture. But natural wood cabinets are, of course, much more expensive. I just needed something that would fit in the workshop. I don't think I could have found a better option that was so affordable and so durable. He falls in the perfect middle ground. Because of the touch of things in the store, I think this is a more durable option than the pressed cardboard kitchen cabinets you can buy at big hardware stores. It's a miracle they are delivered without major damage. The storage cabinet in particular is very heavy and mine arrived with an explosion box. But only one corner of one door was damaged. I contacted Prepac and they immediately sent a free replacement. The fact that nothing else was damaged is a testament to the strength of their fairing as well as the superb packaging. I think the veneer is rhino skin. One cupboard had two fairly deep dents on the edge that couldn't be broken through. I left the details as they are because you can hardly see them after the doors have been put on. The assembly is very simple. I was expecting it to hurt like other pressed cardboard furniture, but it was actually quick and the end result was solid. It's hard not to basically reconcile it with the mounting method they use. I will always hate buying pressed cardboard furniture, but if I have to do it in the future I would buy it again, probably without even shopping. There is a small inconvenience with hanging closets. If you are mounting two side by side, clamp and screw together. But the screws you used to attach the sides to the bottom and top grip each other, so you don't get a tight line the whole time. There is a small gap at the top and bottom, with the cupboards touching in the middle. You can see it in my photo below. This material is not really designed to countersink your screws, then your screw will rest on the pressed plate and not the solid veneer. For the price I don't care and wouldn't deduct a star for that, but know you'll address it.

Pros
  • Solid MDF doors with smooth profile edges
Cons
  • Wrinkled
