I bought these for my father because he has trouble getting up and down from a chair. It's not very safe. They slide and fall all over the place if they lose their balance even the slightest bit. If you have square legs, then they are more reliable - our sharp ones. I've read of people filling them with concrete to keep them from tipping over, but that won't stop the chair leg from slipping when seated unless I put some rubber in the top. The concrete idea is good! Good value, hasn't broken yet as I've read others have had issues but not safe for the elderly unless you're willing to make changes. I also put the chair against the wall so it doesn't slide back. Beautiful and big! Edit: Unfortunately I decided to return them. They just weren't safe and that scares me and my dad. The chair has already fallen over twice when he sits down. I wish they had a wider base (although they are already quite large) and I wish they were heavier.
