We have a waterfront home with a basement (not recommended). A few years after we bought it, the single (non-submersible) drain pump failed and the basement had 12 inches of water. Thus began my training in hydraulic pressure and the art of removing groundwater before it could do any harm. a second shaft was installed and connected to the existing shaft in the basement. Two pumps were installed and one in the new larger sump was lower meaning it was the main pump. I also isolated each pump to separate the circuits in case a short occurs. Finally, both circuits are connected to my emergency generator. However, I wanted the device to provide a temporary buffer so we could respond to any power outages. Pump Sentry solution. It has all the features I need to keep the pump running during a power outage. I installed it myself on a higher standby pump and it works very well. , inverter and circuit breaker in one housing. I bit the bullet and am glad I did.
