My car has Apple CarPlay and a small space under the USB port that is perfect for an iPhone. Normal ports mean the phone sits oddly in place. This results in the phone often resting on the jack itself, which can cause bumps in the road to temporarily disable the phone. Longer standard cables are also disruptive. That's not a problem with this cable, the 90° connectors let the phone lie flat in the small compartment, and the short length means the cable doesn't get in the way all the time. The 90° connector on the USB side also helps keep the cable out of the way. We can even fold my wife's phones by plugging them into the charging adapter and mine into the CarPlay slot without getting tangled in cords. (Note, if you frequently use your phone while it's plugged into your car, the short length might not be ideal.) We haven't had them for a very long time, so we don't know how long they will last long-term, but they seem to be durable .
