I received this exact item for Christmas from a longtime friend who always knew I was a cat lover. When my 6 year old niece saw this during our family Christmas gathering, I knew she wanted one for herself! She never stopped playing with him. Unfortunately, a few months later my coin box broke; but that's because my dog pushed him off my kitchen table and he fell on the hard floor. The drawer door no longer closes, rendering the entire drawer unusable. However, I will NOT blame the company if it doesn't work because I broke it (or should I say my dog broke it). So it's August now and I just bought the same item for my little niece who was last looking at it. Christmas. When she opened her gift, she was thrilled! I put two batteries in the box. My niece put a quarter on her plate and pushed it. A cat's paw came out to steal a coin. My niece loved it and all the kids thought it was a cool gift. I have to admit the mechanism in the box is such that I think if a child presses the button too hard or if the box is mishandled it could easily break. If the box breaks within a year I will change my estimate. So far it works perfectly and my niece loves it.
