Review on Lume Cube 2 0 Professional Photography by David Hodgson

I was looking for a small and very portable lighting for photo shoots and after reading and reading many reviews about the Lume Cube v2 I decided to try it. The Lume Cube v2 is very compact, portable and the build quality is excellent. I've used them a few times and they do their job well, the included lighting modifiers are great for changing different effects making them very versatile. Battery life is decent, which is a given given its size. Also, the cube can get very hot if you leave it running for a long period of time. The phone app is not bad, multiple cubes can be controlled, I wish there was a way to rename the devices in the app which would allow the light to be intuitively identified rather than just a number designation. Another thing I wish for in a future version is color temperature adjustment in the app. The cubes are set to 5600K and can be customized with color gels/filters. Pros: - Compact and portable - Sturdy and well built - Variable brightness levels (1-100) - Decent battery life - USB-C port for charging the lamp (cable included) - Storage case Cons - The case can get very hot when it is used for more than a year long period - No internal color temperature adjustment - Price - No possibility to rename devices in the app
