4 stars for the product itself, increased to 5 due to excellent customer service. The spindle hole in the mat I received was slightly off center. If I hadn't been very picky I would have overlooked it and probably forgotten that I was ever unhappy with him. But it hurt me. So I contacted the seller. The seller was very nice and sent me another rug straight away, literally within an hour of our communication. New carpet arrived in 2 days. I offered to return the first one but the seller said to keep it. The new one is better. As for the product itself: This is a piece of leather the same thickness as the cork mat I used previously and the same thickness as the wool mat that came with my Rega Planar 3. Hudson The leather mat isn't durable leather, but it's not flimsy either. The diameter of the mat is slightly smaller than that of a vinyl record or turntable. This is intentional: the outer edge of the 12-inch record is slightly convex. The mat is cut slightly smaller than the panel so that the convex part hangs over the edge of the mat. Otherwise, if the raised rim were to rest on the mat, the record itself would not lay flat on the mat. I have no issues with static electricity when using this mat. I don't notice any change in sound quality as some others have reported. The improvement in sound quality is probably a placebo effect. The leather is attractive and adds class to my turntable. I love that this rug comes in a variety of colors, including neutrals like black and gray and more "fun" colors. like red and blue i bought black now i am thinking about buying red just to change the look of my plant from time to time. : a round piece of light-colored leather with a hole in the center for the spindle. USA sold by an American seller who makes every effort to satisfy the customer. And the product itself is good, glad to have it on my player. So I am happy with my purchase and I strongly encourage you to consider this product.
