This is truly one of the most useful baby items I have, can't believe so few changing pads are washable! My first is 20 months old and this (my only cover) is still relevant! As a newborn, I particularly appreciated that it wasn't just washable, it was wipeable - we had a few suitcases of poop where it was great to just toss them out with all the rest of the laundry. In general, I can just delete it. It still looks almost new. One problem is that the washable vinyl material can be a bit cold for a child. In fact, it only affects us after a bath when he's shirtless. I can't imagine simple fabric covers. If you plan to use a changing table (there is space on the back for nappies/napkins and a lighter) make sure you get this cover, it's worth it! Although it might be cheaper at Target!
