Solid execution. in the mountains

I have a so-called architect's lamp. These are lamps with swivel joints and strong tension springs that hold the lamps in place. You have seen them. I lost the desk clip that came with my lamp. It was plastic and didn't have a large enough "gap" to grip the thick table top. Also, as a plastic, I knew from previous experience that it would break easily under a lot of pressure. At around $10 I found this clip expensive but I went ahead and ordered one. I'm glad I did. At first I was pleasantly surprised that the yoke was solid steel instead of plastic. Very difficult. I was confused by the round knob on the side and assumed it was meant to grip the lamp's base like a set screw. And so it turned out. The base of my lamp fits into the hole with a small margin. The handle makes the attachment very secure. Maximum spacing is 55mm or a strip over 2 1/8 inches. There is a green rubber pad for a secure hold, even on a glass table. The depth of the gap is about 43 mm. The main thing is that this clip is made of durable steel and really lasts a long time. Ordinary plastic clips are simply not trustworthy. $10 is a bit pricey but I know this product will last. Small update, when I look at the Revains product description, I see that the clip is described as aluminum. Maybe, but it feels hard and heavy like steel.
