HP on the way to comeback? Great product, 100% satisfaction

After a series of bad experiences with their laptops and printers over the past decade, I've decided never to buy anything from HP again. But I had the opportunity to buy this monitor in an open box at BestBuy for only $100. I was very impressed with the image quality even under suboptimal viewing conditions in a large store. Needless to say, when I brought it home and pocketed it, I was stunned. The colors are rich, the contrast is superb, the fit and finish is nice and tasteful - and NO iridescent blue lights distract the viewer's attention! (I think manufacturers understand that.) The color gamut is wide and vibrant. I only use the display at 50 percent brightness and even that often feels too bright. The range of viewing angles is impressively wide - in practice the most important of all parameters for comfortable viewing. I found I could position my head almost anywhere without degrading the image. I've never had this experience with a desktop LCD. The LED backlight is very smooth, even, and pearly white, with just a hint of uneven brightness in the far bottom corner. None of the pixels were dead and none were hot. The front of the screen is completely flat, matte black with very little reflection. With 1920 x 1080 resolution, you can experience Full HD without a hint of refresh lag. Despite being a 22-inch device, it takes up less space than my old 19-inch Acer and the image displayed is almost borderless on the physical screen. The on-screen menus and control buttons are very well organized and easy to use. There are three switchable video inputs - VGA, DVI and HDMI. With wide viewing angle and excellent brightness, contrast and color gamut, it can be used well as a dedicated video display via HDMI input. No frills, just great performance in a simple and beautiful package. Welcome back HP!
