This is an amazingly powerful speaker. Not tinny or cheap sounding at all. I bought 2 of these as Christmas gifts for each of my daughters and was delighted to find that after a couple of months they weren't forgotten in the corner. Everyone takes them to the beach or other gatherings with friends. Sometimes I notice them listening to it in the kitchen and I'm always amazed at how good the sound is. And he had no problems with volume. Also, it's cute and compact. If I didn't already have 3 different Oontz speakers, I would buy one!
