Good screen but audio is sluggish and processor is sluggish

I really liked this tablet because it's cheap and has a large 1920x1200 display. Unfortunately, the tablet's many flaws are hard to ignore. This device might suffice for light web browsing and short video watching, but anyone who values sound quality and/or wants to play games should look for something better. This tablet has some positive aspects. The high-resolution screen with natural colors and smooth text is a treat. 64GB of storage is good for a budget device, and the battery life is decent. The tablet has a proper FCC certified ID and a UL listed charger is included. It's a great start, but other aspects of the tablet are disappointing. The sound quality of this tablet is surprisingly poor. It can play loud through its stereo speakers, but the bass just isn't there. It's all highs and limited mids that add harshness and harshness to any sound. There aren't any equalizer settings to improve things, and the tablet sends the same awful audio signal to the headphone jack. The only way to get decent sound is through Bluetooth headphones or speakers, but this connection comes with its own set of delays and lip-sync issues. Scrolling through a webpage is enough to cause stuttering, and stuttering is visible in full-screen apps. Thankfully, watching videos is within the capabilities of this tablet, but forget about anything more demanding like playing video games. The tablet ships with Android 9.0, which is two versions behind the current version. The manufacturer claims that "the device is expected to receive future Android updates," but this seems dubious at best. The tablet shows the Android security patch level as of November 5, 2019, which makes it over a year out of date and no updates are offered yet. All in all, this tablet is hard to recommend. It's fine for just surfing the web or reading books, but anything else is a challenge due to the poor sound quality and underpowered processor. Three stars.
