Used as a canopy for my three wheeler trailer.

was too tired to walk or when we were traveling on busy roads. My dog is a shadow diver. When we go for a walk, she takes every opportunity to duck into the shade if possible on warm days. Because of this, I knew I needed something to shade the trailer. I was lucky enough to find this pre-made canopy that was meant for a dog bed but I felt could be adapted for use with a trailer - and it worked well. This is ONLY the canopy - the bed is purchased separately but I don't need it anyway - you want to attach the MEDIUM to the pendant. *See four images labeled "Canopy 1-4" that illustrate the following instructions. .*In order to attach the canopy to the trailer, four holes must first be drilled, one in each top corner of the front and rear frames of the trailer. To make this easier, first lower the front and back panels by releasing the Velcro straps holding the panels to the top and side tubes of the frame. Drill holes in the corners ONLY through the TOP of the frame tubes (do not continue through the bottom of the tubes, you want the bottom of the canopy poles to rest on the inside bottom of the tubes). In some corners you only drill through the plastic, in others you also have to drill the metal frame tubes into the plastic. Again, each corner only requires ONE hole in each corner through the top of the tubes. See Canopy 1 illustration. The instructions for the dome show how to insert the poles into the holes and then drape the fabric dome over them, but if you look at the underside of the dome you'll see tubes of fabric for the poles to thread through and each Corner also has a tube. I decided to take the extra step of slipping the stands through these tubes because I figured the dome would attach better. Each of the two poles consists of three parts - slide the parts through the fabric tubes before joining them. The two poles will intersect in an x-shape. Once both sticks are connected, bend the sticks and insert the ends into the holes you just drilled. Make sure the hood logo is on one of the long sides of the tag. To make it easier for my large dog to get into the trailer, I deliberately shifted the fabric so that it is lower at the front of the trailer and higher at the back - this gives me a larger opening at the back for my dog. climb through. To do this, I attached the elastic corner hinges of the canopy differently for the front and rear. On the front (the side closest to the trike/bike) I pushed the fabric down the posts to the trailer as far as possible so that it touches the trailer tubes where the holes were drilled. Then I disconnected the trailer's side tubes, which protect the tires, directly from the front of the trailer. I then stretched the dome's hinges until they snapped onto the ends of the tubes, then reattached the side tubes (see canopy 4 image). For the rear hinges of the canopy I attached Velcro ("VELCRO Brand - ONE-WRAP Cable Management, Thin Self-Locking Cable Ties: Reusable, Lightweight - 8" x 1/2" Ties, Pack of 100 - Black " ) loop end (see .Canopy 2) stretch the loop as much as possible and wrap the velcro around the top tube of the frame between the canopy pole and the corner (see Canopy 3). Make sure the Velcro does not come loose; I also took another velcro and wrapped it over the first one.

Pros
  • . Great overall performance.
Cons
  • . Doubtful.
