Review on DeLonghi CGH800 Contact Grill Panini by Michelle Reitz

Great panini press just a few minor cons

Since we bought this panini press a month ago we have used it many, many times. The press heats up very quickly and prepares a sandwich in a few minutes. This particular machine can be used to cook meat, but I haven't tried raw meat with it. I pre-cooked some thinly sliced chicken breasts and then reheated them with a press and it worked great for the purpose. Love the deep ridges that wick away excess fat etc and put it in the included cup. This is a nice feature that makes food healthier and easier to clean. The only downside I have with this product is that the adjustable press top needs to be adjusted manually which means you need some strong pliers as you may not know it needs to be adjusted until the device gets hot . Also, there's no on/off switch, the device turns on when plugged in and off when it's off (although it doesn't really matter much). And the press is said to have a "lock" button that holds the top and bottom together so it can be carried by the handle, but the "lock" feature is a joke. It's just a small plastic tab that should snap into the frame when pressed, but doesn't stay in place at all. That would be my biggest complaint about this product. All in all, we like the panini press very much and we will continue to have a lot of fun with it!

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Long time
