I've read many conflicting reviews and was reluctant to make this purchase. Some said that the strap hook fell apart. I don't see how and may have reinforced it, but the rope connection is quite strong. We've used it for about 20 hours so far. Our mission isn't easy either, there's rubbing and jumping on it with 400+ pounds. Even dived into a submarine several times. I will tell you that the reason you don't use a ski mast for power is not so much the strength of the mast as it is for the safety of your riders. The tube will fly much higher out of the water when pulled by the pylon, making it very dangerous for your drivers. I bought the "y" connection and am using it. The riders catch their breath, but he comes back, on the pylon, the trumpet wants to stay in the air. Overall this is a great product given fairly heavy use after 20-25 hours on the water.
