The first thing I noticed was a broken piece. It wasn't broken during shipping, it was in place of a pine knot under paint on one of the long boards where the knot covered 80% of the width of the board, the knot came loose and the remaining 20% failed to hold on. the weight of the board as it was one of the long ones. They chose poor woodcuts for the rear handrails. In addition, the dowel holes were not drilled in some places, I had to do that myself. My first impression was to skip it, but I quickly discovered that these dowels act as weight bearings and without them, long screws would simply tear apart a thin piece of wood. Another issue was that the dowel and screw holes didn't always line up, which put stress on some parts. That's a good thing, but obviously there's a lack of quality control in both development and packaging.
