After using a box as a bedside table for a long time after moving house, I finally listened to my wife and went for a real one (I know, I'm married and use still boxes as furniture after moving my poor wife). For less than fifteen bucks it's damn good. The perfect size for a small lamp, a book and my phone on the desk faucet, and a few extra magazines on the bottom shelf (or whatever if you don't like reading). MY ONLY PROBLEM with these things is putting them together. While it was fairly straightforward and theoretically easy, I had wooden pegs that didn't quite fit the holes they were intended for. As a result, the pins began to crack on the wood when I started collecting them. To fix this you can sand the pins a bit or drill some bigger holes (it's chipboard so I don't fully recommend it) but for something so small I found the pins unnecessary and decided not to use them. . The table holds up well without them. The drawer itself is fine, you can use it for socks or whatever, or not use it at all in exchange for an extra shelf. All in all, it's a lot better than my box.
