I bought this USB connector to use with the factory Audi Concert radio in my Audi TT. My car is 2001 and there is a phone jack in the center console which was originally used for a cell phone. It came this way, brand new. Mobile phones are long gone, but there is a plug. I recently bought an iPod adapter to work with the Concert radio and wanted to place the USB port somewhere other than just tucking it in the glove box. Since the phone port was there, I found a USB port that looked like it would fit and bought it. This. It's about the right size to fit into a factory phone jack. I had to modify it a bit to make it fit perfectly. I removed about a millimeter from the bottom and beveled the top with a rotary tool. This allowed the USB port to be fitted flush. The retaining lugs grabbed the plastic and it fits really well, but with a bit of wiggling I was able to get it out. The tip is not hard plastic. It is a rubbery and flexible material. I 3D printed a bracket that screws in where the factory screws are and holds the USB connector securely in place. If you want to print the same bracket for your Audi I have uploaded it to Thingiverse. Look for the Audi USB port bracket there and you will find it and you can download it for free. I am happy with the results. Looks like it was Audi supplied and I can plug in my phone or iPod and charge from the passenger seat. I measured the case size 19mm x 11mm. You will need a 21mm x 12mm hole to fit properly.
