I feel so bad I'm even writing about my beloved 13 1/2 year old black Labrador Retriever's experience with this product. for a while and somehow i thought it might help. (Yes) Kona used to have a standard sized 3-step cat claw ladder that seemed to work well for her (Kona). I thought I would be of some help to her with these "gentle" steps (literally). not figuring out how to climb onto her royal dog sofa; They were clearly made for dogs with (much) shorter legs as she slipped on the floor and slipped back. She tried so hard to make them work. After a few hundred tries (okay, so it seems) she just looked at me with those sad puppy eyes; I thought we were both going to cry now. She "told me" that she was sorry; I told her it was all my work and we hugged (seriously). In the next few minutes, I made her catwalk stairs even better than before. She went straight up the steps to her throne and dropped with an "Aaaah". I gave her some treats to make up for my wrongdoing and rechecked this and other ladders to see if I might have bought the wrong size. no I'm still giving this actual product a decent rating because I genuinely think it would work well for a small dog. The steps are fairly light, they fold for easy storage and transport, and they have a modern look that many others don't have. I wish they were made for bigger dogs too. OK.
