These were the only bulbs I could find with a high lumen rating. I have others that say they are 13w and seem to be brighter. If you're looking for the brightest smart light bulbs you can find, at least you've found them for now. I hope that technology will continue to give us more opportunities in the future. The installer worked great with the Smart Life app but I've used it before so I'm sure it helped. The instructions were unclear, but once you've downloaded the app and signed in, you need to click the + in the top-right corner, then select Lighting. Choose from the many light source options Light Source (Wi-Fi). I think the other directions are ok. Attention! Out of the box 4 pears 2 buzzed quite loudly. It might not have bothered others, but it really irritates me. I returned them and tried again because the light seemed brighter than I had and there really aren't any other options yet. The second 4-pack was much better. They arrived cold (it's winter) but the faint buzzing I heard went away after a few minutes. I think warming up with use might have helped. There were no problems with the exchange!
