I had some doubts when I first ordered this product. I have a laptop top that I bought new but had to send in for repair twice in the first 6 months. After the second time, I suspected that the damage was due to the laptop overheating. So I started looking for laptop cooling products and this is something I highly recommend. However, I was a bit unsure if the fans would be able to keep my laptop cool enough as I like to play games for hours and if I have high demands on my large laptop. I have to say that it did the cooling job quite well. Whenever I feel my laptop getting hot, I can just show it on the stand. If it still gets hot after turning it on, the fans will cool it down again. It's powered by a USB cable, so you'll need a free USB port. However, there is another USB port on the cooling pad to replace what you lost on your laptop. And yes, your laptop can read what you put into that USB port. The bottom backlight, while a cool idea, is basically useless for a laptop user. When your laptop is on a stand, it blocks light from the user unless you lift the laptop to see it. The supplied USB cable broke after a few months of use. But I'm a bit rough and I tend to be rough on strings. You can also find a replacement cable at any store that sells everything related to computers at a bargain price. Overall this is a great product.
