This is the first leather I have ever bought to make leather goods. It works for wet stamps or lighter impressions - I don't know what the other reviewer's problem was. But it's not really made for carving. I use my pickle stick on it, but it doesn't stand up to the swivel knife. General. Literally scratched my skin. I do not know why. Currently looking for a suitable leather to carve with a rotary knife. I probably won't buy this leather again because they have doubled the price since I bought it less than 2 years ago. Every time I check, the price goes up even more. But it was fun while it lasted. I like this color very much. Oh, one more thing - I discovered that applying beeswax made it almost completely black, which only spoiled the color of this object and made engravings and stamps difficult to distinguish. I would not recommend that.
