I was very happy about this rear seat cover to protect my leather seats. My dog rides in my car up to three times a week so I've benefited a lot since buying it a year ago. I have to say it protects very well and sits well so my dog can't stand on the center console which is restricted to the rear seating area only. It came to my car dirty and wet and water never got through that cover. Unfortunately, the persistence was short-lived. After nine months of use, the headrest tethers were rotten. They basically fell apart and fell apart leaving them useless on both sides. The lid hasn't become unusable, but it's no longer secure enough to hold dog hair and prevent my dog's claws from contacting the seat. I live in Georgia where it is very hot and humid so this may be the reason for my experience but if so a more heat resistant material should be used to extend the life of this product.
