I used LED fluorescent lamps in screen lamps to direct the light in one direction. It worked, but it was a pain. I was looking for something better and came across the Elgato Key Light. The light looked like it was perfect for what I need which is twitch streaming. They're made of metal and so far don't seem to get hot in use. At full brightness they're almost blindingly bright, and I actually use them at 3% and 6% brightness levels for streaming. It is this brightness that is shown in the image I am providing in this review. The light they emit is diffuse and doesn't leave harsh shadows - they glow very evenly. You can adjust the color spectrum from 2900K to 7000K. I don't know what the minimum lumens are, but it's 2500 at 100%, which is an impressive amount of light. They come with vertical desk mounts which are also very solidly built. The ball mount on top is metal and they attach securely and easily. In my picture you can see that I rotated two side lights 90 degrees. They integrate with the Elgato Stream deck which is great because with the push of a button I can turn on all 3 lights and set the right settings to get ready. to stream. I press another button and they all turn off. I even created a folder with other buttons to control the lights individually - on/off, brightness, color, etc. If you don't have a streaming deck, you can control them very easily from the Windows taskbar, including rotating them. turn on and off, and adjust brightness and color. There will also be an iOS app to manage them, but it's not yet available at the time of this review. As soon as it becomes available I will update this review to comment. Installation was easy. I set them up with my iPhone too - I just connected to my 2.4GHz network and then there was an option in my phone's Wi-Fi section to adjust the button backlighting. I touched the indicator light and touched "Setup" and it connected the light to Wi-Fi. You *don't need* WiFi on your computer to use them if they're available on your network. You can set it up from a computer if your computer has Wi-Fi, but I used my iPhone and found the process easy enough. I wish the iOS setup documentation was a bit clearer, but it was easy enough for me to figure everything out. They were expensive but I'm very happy with them. This is exactly what I need to be able to evenly light myself and my green screen while streaming. Being able to change their color and brightness on the fly is amazing.
