Review on Nikon Z50 + Z DX 16-50mm Mirrorless Camera Kit: Advanced AF, 4K UHD Movies, High Res LCD - VOA050K001 by Jhalak Tamrakar ᠌

The product is good, there are only a few minor flaws.

For some reason, they compare the camera with the D7XXX series, I am the owner of the D7000, Fujifilm X-T10, this camera is of the D5XXX class and Fujifilm X-T100, no more. Management is less convenient than in the D7XXX series. From Olympus class OM-D E-M10 and falls short of OM-D E-M5. Before buying, I was very worried about the possibility of using existing lenses from a DSLR and . it turned out that everything was much more interesting: According to Sigma: the Sigma DC 50-200mm 1: 4-5,6 lens turned out to be inoperative; Tamron: Tamron SP AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Di VC USD (A005) Nikon F-workable; Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 (272E NII) Nikon F lens does not work. Working with macro rings with contacts: working: NIKON 35mm f/1.8 AF-S DX Nikkor, Nikon F; Nikon 85mm f/1.8G AF-S Nikkor; Sigma APO DG 70-300mm 1:4-5.6; Tamron SP AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Di VC USD (A005) Nikon F; non-working: Nikon: AF-S 50-1,8 G (it is not clear of course). I regret the inability to use threaded manual lenses - there are no adapters yet. And Focus Peaking works, and the “magnifier” works with manuals on the F mount. On flashes: Sigma EF-610 DG ST works fine with Nikon D7000, not with Z50; YN560 IV with Fujifilm X-T10, Olympus OM-D E-M10 and Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II with YN560 IV work fine, but Z50 is dull and does not respond to the presence of the flash - the screen is dark and it is impossible to focus. However, this is most likely the jamb of the FTZ adapter, because. it does not provide open aperture operation. In terms of the ability to “pull” a photo, it surpasses the Nikon D7000, despite the larger number of pixels.

Pros
  • Good build and pretty decent looking. Handy yet small and light. Ability to use existing SLR lenses. Very well organized, clear and convenient menu. Built-in flash - allows reflection from the ceiling. Swivel screen. There is Focus Peaking and a magnifier.
Cons
  • Few control buttons. To change the shooting mode, you have to climb into the menu or into the screen, which is unusual. Lack of automatic stitching of panoramas. Dear "native" optics. Very weak user manual in 2022. Small battery. For its class of roads. There is no headphone jack. The lack of a stabilizer on the matrix. The built-in flash is low-power (7m), located low, so standard and wide-angle zooms from a DSLR give a shadow. Flashes do not work correctly: YN560 IV and Sigma EF-610 DG ST. The system with information on the screen requires you to look at the screen, the viewfinder is excluded from work.

Has pros: All that is written above. Has cons: The battery is weak, but it is charged from the powerbank.
