Tilt and swivel left and right, entry and exit. I like being able to get away from the wall, maybe 3 feet. This makes it easier to work with wires etc. As my other reviewers have pointed out, use caution when adjusting the tilt. When the screws are loosened it will quickly fall down to its maximum tilt and may cause the TV to hit something. I installed a 65 inch TV on the fireplace. I had 35 inches from chimney to ceiling. The TV was 33 inches so it barely fit in. I must have measured 10 times to make sure the wall mount is in the right place.
