This is a good camera that could have been a very good webcam. There are many things for that. good resolution, nice size, variable focal length. But it has one major problem: it's almost impossible to access the settings this camera offers. If there's software for Mac OS, it's well hidden (and certainly doesn't come with the camera). And none of the many settings can be made without software. Without good software support, these cameras are too cumbersome, at least in the Mac world, and end up disappointing.
