Review on πŸ” Motorcraft FL2017B High-Performance Oil Filter"  by Matt White

Improved Design Good Oil Filter!

I always buy OEM parts for my cars whenever possible as experience tells me it's always better to use OEM parts for some important parts even if they are somewhat cost more. I also enjoy doing my own auto repairs whenever possible. Changing your engine oil and oil filter is something you can do if you are mechanically inclined. Placing oil filters where human hands can't reach on some car models seems intentional. Manufacturers are making this job a little harder than usual and intentionally I think so they can bring customers to their dealers and maybe get more customers from customers. Well, there's nothing wrong with that, and some dealerships are actually pretty good at changing oil. and an oil filter, while they also spin the tires for you. Some FORD dealers will also wash cars under $50 for you. But chances are you're unlucky and some untrained novice technicians mess up your car, and some dealers might be very pushy about doing this "non-essential" work when you take your car for regular oil changes. Once you've managed to scare you that things are about to go bad, you have no choice but to shell out the extra bucks for the peace of mind that, in most cases, isn't really needed for a few more years of your car's life . The recommended 5W-20 synthetic motor oil and using the OEM Motorcraft FL2017B oil filter on my 2006 FORD Escape Hybrid is easy for me. Fortunately, on this model, FORD has placed the oil filter so that it can be easily replaced. I do this about once a year or when my car tells me to change the oil (it has some sort of on-board meter). It also gives me peace of mind that doing my job myself hasn't changed anything and gives me the satisfaction of getting the job done right in my own garage. At the same time, the filter has a new and improved design compared to previous versions. This one looks good and was made in the USA. I have previously used a K&N HP-7013 oil filter and that is a good product too. Thank you for reading my review and please see the photos I have posted of this product.
