Appears to have been a return that was resold. The box had a slight tear where one would expect such tears if it had been opened earlier. But. I agree to resale as long as the product looks new and performs as expected. And this one does. I just felt I should note the look of the box for those who might be interested in return/resale practices. With this device I can connect up to four USB devices and connect it to two different computers via USB. , so both can use the same devices (individually, of course). The backlit button is pressed when I want to switch devices, the blue one is my laptop and the green one is my desktop. Installation took less than a minute, no power cord required. What a joy that two have two keyboards, two headsets and two mice to switch between when I switch machines. In my home work environment, my work laptop and PC are on the same desk and both use my upgraded widescreen monitor, so this device is a good fit for this style of work. If I had any complaints it might be that the USB cables were a little short, but I've still managed to make it work well and I can always get my own USB connection cables if needed. If anything goes wrong in the future I will update but so far this thing is working as advertised and my work station is down three devices cluttering my space. Very satisfied.
