I recently needed to replace a rear latch on my 2013 VW TDI sports car. The old one didn't hold up at all. Given the low price and fast shipping of this part, I decided to give it a try. Six months later, the latch still works great. The video and photo show the new latch installed. As you can see from the picture the new part does not cover the same area 100% - there is a small gap between the back of the part and the metal of the barrel. However, this gap is not a problem. As with any VW repair, prepare the torx and 12-point sockets. It's been so long since I've replaced it that I can't remember exactly what I should have used, but I do know I had to get my hands on a 12 point Capri set. Assuming you have the right tools, this is literally a 10-15 minute fix.
