Was installed as an additional pad when replacing the shower valve. The existing opening in the ceramic tile for the new valve needed to be widened to accommodate pipe fittings and tools without damaging the shower wall. The larger bore slightly outperformed the standard valve set. It is made of plastic with a polished brass finish. Many reviewers complained about the high price due to the plastic, but the finish is very good and matches the finish of my Delta shower valve, and the plastic has a strong texture when it has a good backing. Other brands I checked were thicker, for less money, but this would affect the installation of the shower handle due to the lack of adequate attachment. I'm satisfied and it was the cheapest store you could buy from.
