Very durable: Sponges
This mail shirt does an excellent job of removing visible dirt from cast iron. I still have to salt clean it every few months to get rid of the black deposits. It also seemed very durable. I went back to ordering a second one after accidentally throwing mine down the chute. But before its unfortunate fate, after almost a year of daily use, my chain mail remained completely intact.
- Sponges and sponges can be unhygienic as food remains on them and bacteria multiply. Not with the cast stainless steel chain scrubber! Simply rinse the chain scrubber and let it dry. Or just run it through the dishwasher to sterilize it completely.
