Hold the connector in place while gluing.

My main pipe cleaner is concreted in front of our house. This is thin PVC pipe with a nominal 4 inch ID. In this cleanup there was a threaded metal cap but no real threads in the base. Our lawn mower has destroyed this cover over time. , used primer on both sides and then PVC glue. It slid well but I made the mistake of pulling the drain plug out to get a better grip on the fitting when inserting it. Time to screw the plug back in. I think the heat from the cement somehow caused the fitting to warp? If I had to do it all over again I would make sure the plug stayed in the fitting by inserting it into the tube in the floor. .
