Refrigerator was not cooling, ice in ice dispenser melted. Cooling coils clean, both fans and water dispenser work.Compressor warm to touch, no vibration, no clicking of relay, no noise from compressor. Replaced relay and capacitor with above kit. The item arrived as expected, but unfortunately it looks like its the compressor. It was worth a try for the prize. We had to buy a new refrigerator.

shape of cap was significantly different than the OEM and my brace wouldn't attach around it. That said, I threw it on without the brace and it ran my compressor without problems for three days while I waited on an original part. This knock-off costs about 10% of the original part I ordered from Appliance Parts Pros so it's a decent value for the money, but I just don't trust it enough to risk my fridge/freezer contents. I'll keep it around as an emergency temp replacement.

These parts tested out properly but the manufacturing, as usual with chinese knockoff crap, is beyond sub-par. As seen in the photos, the contacts on the capacitor are skewed. They did not line up for the slots on the start relay, hence the broken retaining post. Couldn't use it, got the OEM part and was perfect.

I read the negative reviews and should have listened, but trying to save money like we all do, I went ahead and tried it. This is a TERRIBLE product. When you buy a relay it should not rattle like this one did out of the box. I installed it to see if it would even work and it did, but I pulled it back off after an hour to see what was smelling like burnt plastic. You guessed it. The compressor relay in our 15 year old whirlpool refrigerator burned out. We bought the part twice. We were unsuccessful the first time installing it which was our fought. The second time we watched a video to install it and it worked. The price was perfect compare to buying from an appliance parts store which was too expensive! The fridge was up and running, took less than 5 min to install. Fridge had power but the compressor was not on . This was so inexpensive compare to replacing the fridge itself(1.5k), compressor, or the mother board , so give it. Try after some research on the web, cannot say for sure how long this would last will update later

I bought this for a Whirlpool French Door refrigerator built in probably the late 90's or early 2000's. Most parts places were quoting $85 or more. I found this one using the part number from the various appliance parts websites. I figured for less than $15 it was worth a shot. The part fit fine. My 30ish year old Sears chest type freezer quit. I was disappointed that the switch did not work when I opened the package. I was able to use the capacitor and my old switch but 8 months later, both are broken. Good luck, maybe you'll get one that was assembled correctly.

This part saved me from having to call a repair man and who knows how much money to repair. My freezing quit working, researched a little on google, took the back of the refrigerator off to get to this part, matched it with this part on Revain and bam, next day it came in and my freezing was working perfectly again. Exact fit. Easy to install. Too soon to know if it will work over the long haul.Update: the capacitor works fine but the compressor start device lasted 10 days and quit. It never seemed to sound quite right from installation. I replaced it with a genuine Whirlpool part and have had no problems since.

The piece works good. Our refrigerator and freezer both work great. It does make a loud clicking noise when it comes on but other than that it works great.

put this on and it now has a clicking noise and is trying to work - but my compressor is not starting - locked up = it was just a cheap try to fix it
