First of all, it's so annoying when you tear the curtain cord or stretch the old ones, so the curtains keep falling. The blinds in our 5th wheel were surprisingly good day/night shades and we didn't want to spend money to replace them. We found this first aid kit and are thrilled with the results. We've changed strings in the two largest shades, and there are still strings for unforeseen circumstances. Follow the instructions carefully and take your time! Dismantling curtains requires patience, but anyone can do it, and the result is worth the time spent and the low cost of the kit. We had concerns about whether the color would match. It was a different color than the original string, but the shades matched perfectly and you won't be able to tell the difference between the new string and the old string if they are set to the same shade.
