One of the most controversial features of Xbox controllers is that unlike PS or Switch controllers, they don't come with rechargeable batteries. I am ambivalent about this whole issue for several reasons. Firstly, I can understand the positive aspect of being able to swap out such batteries or battery packs in no time at all. On the other hand, I think Microsoft's manufacturing costs for controllers are lower and these savings aren't really passed on to customers. I didn't really think about these issues for a while because while I loved the Xbox 360, I skipped the Xbox One because it was a pretty disappointing console compared to the PS4. However, now in this generation, I've received both major consoles and found that I'd rather play my Series X than my PS5. Kudos to Xbox for getting this generation right with great backwards compatibility and an unrivaled game pass. Xbox's success in getting me to play on their system means I need good battery life for my controller and this pack works really well. My other Xbox controller batteries are only 1300mAh and last around 10-12 hours of playtime. With 2600 mAh, they last about twice as long in my experience. I can switch between gaming on my Series X, Remote Play on my phone, and gaming on PC. It's nice not having to think about changing the battery frequently, and it's nice to have this handy charger to swap out when the time is right.
