Review on 🦷 Fluoride-Free Toothpaste by Uncle Harry's by Brian Sobirov

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great natural paste (and understanding the mandatory lead warning label)

I've been using this for years. The teeth are always clean after use. My husband and I haven't had any new cavities since we switched to Uncle Harry 3 years ago. My husband and I have not had any problems with gingivitis or sensitive teeth since using this product. I didn't notice any significant change in the whiteness of our teeth, but that wasn't our motivation for going to Uncle Harry's. Be careful if you are allergic or sensitive to cinnamon, peppermint or spearmint as Uncle Harry's does not use these essential oils! Some people are concerned about the lead warning, but lead is not bioavailable. Of course, this depends on your diet and health, route of exposure, particle size, etc. Instead, bentonite clay is naturally polycationic, which allows it to act as a detoxifier, drawing out toxins when ingested. Various studies have been conducted on this subject over the years. If you are interested in the science behind bentonite clay, read on. A wealth of peer-reviewed scholarly literature is available on PubMed, NCBI, EuropePMC, Google Scholar and many other sites. In the end, you must make your own informed decision. Calcium montmorillonite clay (UPSN) has been safely administered orally to children suffering from the side effects of aflatoxin (AF) exposure in Ghana. After a 14-day study, hematological and mineral analyzes of the serum were performed. Statistically significant differences between the experimental and placebo groups were found for serum Na+ and Cl-, which significantly increased (P<0.01), decreased Ca+ levels and decreased Mg2+ levels. However, values remained within the normal US pediatric range in all groups. Mitchell, Nicole J. et al. "Short-term safety and efficacy of calcium montmorillonite clay (UPSN) in children". American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, vol. 91.4 (2014): 777-85. doi:10.4269/ajtmh.14-00932. In pigs, montmorillonite supplementation reduced lead concentrations in blood, brain, liver, bone, kidney and hair for 100 days. Yu D.Yu., Lee XL, Lee WF (2008). Influence of an ultrathin montmorillonite composite on growth rates and lead content in porcine tissues. Biol Treis Elem Rez, 125:229-35.3. In sheep, it was consistently found that the bioavailability of dietary copper can be reduced by the oral intake of bentonite. Ivan M, Dayrell Mde S, Hidiroglou M (1992). Effect of bentonite and monensin on individual elements in the stomach and liver of sheep without fauna and sheep with fauna. J Dairy Sci, 75:201-8.4. Side effects such as fibrosis occur when inhaling clay particles, especially when they are sprayed. silicate, zirconium silicate, attapulgite, bentonite, bleaching earth, hectorite, kaolin, lithium magnesium silicate, lithium magnesium sodium silicate, montmorillonite, pyrophyllite and zeolite.
